Our Team

At Rausch PT, everyone from our friendly front office staff to our dedicated aides is here to cheer you on and help you achieve your goals. We strive to give you the best experience possible every time you come see us, which is why your personal Rausch physical therapist will be by your side throughout your entire treatment. While most PT clinics have you see someone different every time, we feel it’s important to develop and nurture that one-on-one relationship with you to maintain the highest-quality care throughout the duration of your rehabilitation.

Our physical therapists are all athletes themselves, and as such, have developed sport-specific niches to complement their extensive understanding of the human body as a whole. Click on a PT below to learn about her or his specialties. If you’re an athlete, please feel free to ask for your sport’s resident PT when you call and make your first appointment!

Get to Know Kevin

Just like you, I was first introduced to the world of physical therapy as a patient. I hurt my knee playing volleyball, and after surgery I was sent to physical therapy. I had a rad physical therapist named Kay who got me back to playing the sport I loved, and I was blessed to finish my volleyball career at Cal Baptist University—where we won two National Championship titles—without major injuries. After seeing how Kay guided me through recovery, I decided that I wanted to become a physical therapist so I could help other people get better and get back to doing what they love. I graduated from physical therapy school at Nova Southeastern University, where I was able to develop advanced knowledge in sports biomechanics and manual physical therapy care.

In 2003 I began my professional career as a licensed physical therapist at a clinic in Newport Beach. There, I was blessed with many opportunities to care for high-level athletes from a variety of professional sports, including working with the USA Gymnastics Team and AVP Pro Tour. Three years later, my wife Chrissy and I decided to take a leap of faith and open our own clinic in Laguna Niguel.

Since our first day on March 5, 2006, we could tell that Rausch Physical Therapy & Sports Performance was going to be a special place in the world of physical therapy. Our clinic has taken the lead by not only offering the most thorough and specific rehabilitation programs in the field, but also a Performance Lab boasting the kind of technology you can typically only access as a professional athlete.

I take great pride in the care of every single patient I get the opportunity to treat. Your concerns and goals are my top priority. I enjoy finding the cause of your issue, whatever that may be, and using my expertise to offer you relief and recovery. There’s a lot that goes into getting someone better, and I am not a believer in the “quick fix” idea. The human body is changed by work and corrective stress; I’m here to strengthen your total body health. See you on the table!

Get to Know Jonathan

I’ve always had a profound interest in baseball and the physical demands required by the human body to perform the sport well. During my college years, I gained experience assessing, taping and rehabilitating collegiate baseball players as a student athletic trainer. In 2008, I graduated from the University of Redlands with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a minor in Physical Education. After graduation, I really began to find my passion for physical therapy while working as a Physical Therapy Aide. I went back to school and in 2012, I graduated top of my class with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University.

I then began my career right here at Rausch Physical Therapy. As a PT, my goals are to identify my patients’ limitations and treat them with the most recent and innovative techniques so we can prevent injuries and reach their individual goals. I’m also very passionate about the game of baseball, and I’m always looking for the newest research and treatments for baseball-related injuries. It’s my respect for the game and caring for my patients that gets players back onto the field faster and healthier. My ultimate goal is to get the word out to all youth baseball players in South Orange County that they do not have to play through pain.

I live in Laguna Niguel with my wife and newborn baby boy. I really enjoy going to live sporting events, such as Angels baseball and UCLA football, so you can always find me rooting for any sports team.

Throughout my life, I’ve always been involved in team sports, such as baseball, basketball, and football. Living in Southern California, I’ve developed a passion for the outdoors ,and I’m continually searching for the next adventure. Currently my free time is spent on the trails or on the coast, riding my bike or out on a run.

I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from California State University Fullerton, and I completed my Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of St. Augustine. I hold a certification as a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Growing up in San Clemente, my love for the ocean began at an early age. I spent more than a decade lifeguarding and participating in a variety of water-related sports including surfing, swimming and water polo. I also competed throughout college on the UCSD surf team; in fact, I was introduced to the field of physical therapy as a young athlete trying to get back to surfing and water polo after a knee injury. It was then that I realized I could pursue my love for helping others as a physical therapist.

I am passionate about working with patients with shoulder, knee and ankle injuries, and I have a background in orthopedic-related injuries and post-operative rehabilitation. I believe that the combination of manual therapy and personalized therapeutic exercise program is vital to your recovery. As your physical therapist, it’s my goal to help you better understand your injury and the plan for your road to recovery.

I look forward to working with you through your recovery to get you back to what you love. When not at work, I love being outdoors; in my spare time you can find me surfing, running, going to the beach or fishing with my husband.

Get to Know Kevin

As an IRONMAN competitor, avid outdoor enthusiast, and certified strength and conditioning specialist, I pride myself on my ability to connect with my patients using personal experiences and evidence-based research to help them pursue their goals and maintain a healthy, active lifestyle.

My path to a career in physical therapy was a small journey in itself. I’ve always believed that being able to follow your true passion in the form of your profession is a gift and a privilege. So, midway through pursuing an accounting degree, I decided to follow my passion for the human body and movement and got a job as a physical therapy aide right here at Rausch PT. I went on to receive my Doctorate of physical therapy at Columbia University, and now three years later, I’ve started my career as a Doctor of physical therapy at Rausch PT. You can definitely say I’ve come full circle.

I love helping patients recognize and fix movement faults to help them overcome their injury or pain, but my main goal as your PT is to not only help you resolve your current complaint, but also to empower you with the knowledge and tools to prevent re-injury or potentially new injuries, leaving you feeling stronger than ever before.

Born and raised in Laguna Niguel, I’ve found my way back to my hometown. When not working hard for you, you can find me enjoying the beach or training for another race by running and biking the local canyons and trails. I am extremely fortunate to be a part of the Rausch PT team and look forward to helping you reach your goals and become the best version of yourself!

I began swimming competitively at the age of five and swam throughout college. I also ran cross country in high school, so I naturally gravitated toward triathlon. I’ve completed 10 IRONMAN races, including the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona twice, and I have a decade of swim and triathlon coaching experience. Originally a microbiology major with an interest in biological research, I was introduced to the world of physical therapy while dealing with an injury when training for my first IRONMAN. I’m excited to have a career that allows me to combine the biology and scientific research-based approach with my passion for coaching and sports. As a physical therapist, I love that I’m able to combine my coaching experience and PT knowledge to help my patients achieve their personal bests in sports or daily life.

When not at the clinic, you can find me out on the local trail or bike path training for my next race, be it a 5K, an open water swim, or an IRONMAN. I enjoy competing in a variety of events, from road races to ultra trail runs to open water swims. I’m excited to be the newest member of the Rausch PT team, and I look forward to helping people achieve their goals through physical therapy and all the unique opportunities available here at Rausch PT.

Growing up in Southern California, I had opportunities to play a lot of sports. It was my love of basketball that lead to my interest in athletic training and being able to immediately help the athlete on and off the field. I graduated from Concordia University with my degree in Exercise and Sports Science and became a certified athletic trainer. Since then, I have worked closely with youth to college athletes in nearly every sport in our local community.

During undergrad, I worked as a Physical Therapy Aide for four years, and during that time I also became a back injury patient. Once I was a patient on the table, my eyes were fully opened to the amazing profession of physical therapy, and I decided I wanted to pursue it. I graduated from Chapman University with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2013.

Over the past four and a half years, I have been blessed to work in several physical therapy settings, including outpatient private practice, hospital-based outpatient, acute care, and lab assisting. However, my love for sports has drawn me to Rausch Physical Therapy, where I can focus on rehabilitating active people of all ages in my community. My goal as a physical therapist is to return all my patients back to their sport, recreational activity or hobby, and to keep our community active, healthy and happy!

Outside of the clinic, you can find me in the gym pushing around some weights, adventuring outdoors whether it be hiking in the canyon or enjoying the beach, traveling and simply enjoying the newlywed life with my husband.

Throughout my life I found myself getting involved with a lot of sports. I grew up in Pasco, WA, and enjoyed all four seasons Washington offered, which varied from catching the fresh powder on my snowboard to swimming, boating, and biking in the summers. I played most sports year round, but my biggest passion, time and energy went into gymnastics and volleyball.  I moved down to CA in 2009 for schooling at Loma Linda University where I graduated with my Doctorate in physical therapy in 2012 and then shortly after in 2015 became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist. I strive to do the best in all I do either at home or at work. I have two amazing kids that I love spending time with. My passion is to help other moms get the treatment they deserve and need in order for them to be the best person they can be. I also love treating V-ball players and gymnasts because I can relate to the difficulty and dedication it takes for those sports, and I want to help people keep doing what they love.

I was already on the path of becoming a physical therapist when I injured my shoulder playing softball at Walla Walla University. Unfortunately, I did not receive the individualized care my shoulder needed, which has motivated and sparked me to be the best PT I can be for my patients. The manual therapy and therapeutic exercises I provide for my patients are all very specific to that individual to get them back doing what they love to do. I enjoy looking at functional movements and tailoring exercise programs to help you as a whole individual, not just a body part. I am also fluent in Spanish, which allows me to even further assist our community. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two children outdoors either hiking, going to the beach or participating in local 5k or 10k races, or catching a baseball game.

Since I was at school I fell in love with neuromuscular techniques meaning that I developed my Sport Massage Sessions around these techniques combining Trigger Point, Active/Release, Muscle Activation, Deep Tissue and Stretching during my sessions. I start working on Endurance Athletes (Cyclists, Triathletes, Runners, Off-Road Athletes and ultra Athletes) as well as soccer players and rock climbers since halfway of my studies. I come from a Medical background since 2007 and I have a Level 2 certification as a Endurance Coach which made it easier to pass my Certification Exam (MBLEX) even before finishing school. I played soccer my whole life until injuries, now being a Triathlete and Off-Road athlete myself . All these years in the medical field and as an athlete going throw many injuries from broken bones to dislocations and sprains, injuries for over training and tight muscles after racing gave me a wide open picture of what it feels like and how to deal with. I’ve worked alongside with Chiropractors, Doctors and Stretching Studios deciding to pick up what I like the most which is Sports and Rehab.
